Naples – A banal argument escalated into blind violence, fueled by alcohol fumes, and ended with the last-minute intervention of the police.

This is the result of a tense night on Viale della Liberazione, where Carabinieri officers from the Bagnoli station arrested four men for aggravated brawling.

The intervention of the military

It was around midnight when the patrol, engaged in a routine patrol of the territory, was attracted by heart-rending screams coming from near the Bagnoli-Agnano metro station.

Arriving immediately on the scene, the soldiers found themselves faced with a scene of brutal violence: four men intent on ferociously attacking each other using improvised weapons.

The weapons and the arrests

Despite the opponents' resistance, the Carabinieri managed to quell the brawl and disarm those present. Knives and wooden sticks were found and seized on the ground, instruments that could have turned the fight into tragedy.

The protagonists of the incident are two Tunisian citizens aged 20 and 25 and two Russian citizens aged 43 and 52. The age difference did not dampen the intensity of the confrontation, which, according to initial investigations, arose from motives described by investigators as "trivial and unresolved."

The motive: the shadow of alcohol

The fight was apparently not rooted in old grudges related to crime, but rather alcohol abuse. The four people involved, clearly in a state of disarray, began cursing each other, eventually escalating to physical violence.

The four were immediately arrested. They remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities, while the station area has been secured following moments of panic among local residents.

It's incredible how people can get to the point of fighting over such trivial things. It's sad to see alcohol impact people's behavior so much; let's hope it doesn't happen again.
