Naples - The Carabinieri investigation, coordinated by the Naples Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, is aimed at clarifying any responsibilities and, above all, how an 11-year-old boy was able to ride a mini dirt bike through a shopping center.

The investigations aim to reconstruct minute by minute what happened in the parking area of the "La Birreria" shopping centre in Miano and to verify whether there were any shortcomings in supervision, omissions or negligent conduct on the part of those who were supposed to supervise the minor.

The Stella Company officers are gathering testimonies and gathering evidence to reconstruct the boy's presence in the facility. The investigation also focuses on the fact, yet to be confirmed, that the 11-year-old was not alone but accompanied by his adult brother. This finding is considered crucial to understanding who actually had custody of the minor and how he arrived there in the vehicle.

The dynamics of the accident

The accident occurred this afternoon on the second floor of the parking lot. The child, while riding his minibike, reportedly struck the railing, falling approximately 4 meters and landing on a ramp on the lower level.

Rescued by 118 after the store manager raised the alarm and several calls from witnesses, he was transported to Santobono Hospital: he suffered head trauma, abdominal injuries, and a broken arm. The prognosis is guarded, but his life is not thought to be in danger.

Borrelli's position

Green Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli weighed in on the matter: "There's no common sense left, we're experiencing a very dangerous exaltation that makes it impossible to distinguish good from evil. What's an 11-year-old doing on a dirt bike?" The MP pointed to family responsibilities and the phenomenon of "pranks" fueled by social media, calling for a recovery of "clear-headedness" and stricter controls.
