Afragola – Law enforcement continues to clamp down on drug dealing hubs in the Naples hinterland. As part of the extraordinary territorial control operations ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters, officers from the Afragola Police Station arrested a 23-year-old Neapolitan man last night, caught red-handed while selling narcotics.
The stakeout and the blitz
The operation began during a routine patrol on Via Alcide De Gasperi. The officers' attention was drawn to a car parked on the side of the road: inside, the young man was seen receiving a banknote from a passerby, handing over a small package in exchange.
While the buyer managed to quickly disappear into the surrounding streets, the police intervened quickly to stop the suspect and prevent him from fleeing.
The seizure: drugs and cash
The search, immediately extended to the vehicle, confirmed the investigators' suspicions. Six packages of marijuana (approximately 8 grams) were found on the 23-year-old, but the bulk of the cargo was hidden in the passenger compartment: 10 packages of hashish weighing approximately 18 grams; €475 in cash, divided into small bills, believed by investigators to be the direct proceeds of the sales that had taken place during the evening.
The young man was arrested on charges of unlawful possession for the purpose of trafficking. The incident is part of a broader anti-drug trafficking effort that the State Police is vigorously pursuing throughout the province of Naples.

This drug dealing situation is very worrying and demonstrates that the drug problem is still present on our streets. It's important that law enforcement continue to carry out checks to ensure community safety. I hope these operations continue to be effective.
