Marcianis – Carabinieri officers from the Marcianise Company conducted intense patrols throughout the night, until the early hours of the morning, in an operation that also extended to neighboring municipalities.

The coordinated and widespread operation was supported by the Grazzanise Military Police Dog Unit, with the stated goal of ensuring greater security and combating all forms of illegality.

Arrest for illegal weapon

The first significant result was achieved thanks to the officers of the Operations and Mobile Unit. A 36-year-old man from Marcianise, already known to law enforcement, was arrested red-handed for illegal possession of a firearm.

During a personal and home search, the Carabinieri found a 7,65 caliber pistol, complete with magazine and ammunition, in perfect working order and with the serial number removed. The weapon was seized, and the man, after formalities, was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.

Execution of two arrest warrants

At the same time, the Carabinieri of the Marcianise station executed two separate arrest warrants issued by the judicial authorities. A 46-year-old man was taken into custody to serve a three-year sentence for residential burglary, while a 52-year-old resident of the city will serve a year in prison for providing false identity information to a public official. They were also sent to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.

The balance of road checks

The operation, which involved 10 patrols for a total of 24 officers, also produced significant results in terms of prevention and road safety. The numbers speak for themselves: 125 people and 52 vehicles were checked.

The investigations resulted in 15 fines being issued for traffic violations, totaling approximately €7.200. Two vehicles were seized or administratively detained, with the confiscation of two driving and registration documents.

The competent judicial and administrative authorities have been informed of all the findings of the activity, which confirms the Carabinieri's ongoing commitment to territorial control and the repression of crimes, from common crime to the fight against the circulation of illegal weapons.

The Carabinieri operation appears to have been very effective, but there are questions about how the illegal weapon could have been in the possession of such a well-known individual. Road safety is an important issue, so let's hope they continue to monitor it.
