Boscoreale – The precautionary order signed by investigating judge Michaela Sapio, which last week resulted in the arrest of Carmine Gallo, Ivan Maione, and Nunzio Della Ragione, respectively the killer and accomplices in the murder of young pizza chef Davide Fiorucci, reconstructs in detail everything that happened on the night of February 11, 2024.
The investigation begins with the white Fiat Panda used to stalk the victim, the shots fired outside the home, and ends with the alleged motive of a debt reneged on and extortion. The eyewitness testimony, ballistic and autopsy findings, wiretapped conversations (including from prison), and the accusation of justice collaborator Salvatore Buonocore, known as Dragulino, are all important.
“I learned that the perpetrator of Davide's murder was Gallo Carmine. This
I learned it from Gallo's cousin, whose name is…omissiis…who I could recognize from a photo." Statements given to the DDA magistrates on January 24, 2025.
The night of February 11: stalking and escape
The investigations, according to the reconstruction of the order, allow us to trace the route of the white Fiat Panda believed to be instrumental in the murder of Davide Fiorucci: on the night between 10 and 11 February 2024, the car would have acted as a "lookout" near the RealWood pizzeria, where the victim worked, and then hooked up to him at the exit, followed him home and moved along the external perimeter of the "Piano Napoli" buildings, with passages which – according to the investigators – aimed at recovering the advance and positioning the action.
The presence of an accomplice is also crucial: the car, it is written, carried the perpetrator and the person who was supposed to accompany him and then pick him up from the scene of the ambush.
The eyewitness and video evidence
The cornerstone of the reconstruction is the account of the only eyewitness indicated in the warrant: she heard three or four explosions and, looking out from the balcony (block 10G, with a direct view), she saw a man flee on foot, passing under the arcades of block 8 and then turning towards the small street between blocks 8 and 9.
The time of the murder was "crystallized" between 12:35 and 12:36 on February 11 and deemed compatible with the images: cameras on Via Settetermini reportedly captured the rapid exit of three white vehicles (including the Panda being reconstructed) and also the reaction of a worker from a company working on a construction site, who reportedly hastily locked himself inside the area after being alarmed by the gunshots.
Motive: debt and extortion pressure
From the wiretaps "within the victim's family" and, above all, from the widow's SIT (4 April 2024), which the order says was confirmed by judicial police checks, the motive would emerge: an old debt claimed by the Gallo family and refused by Fiorucci.
The judge cites a sequence of incidents: the extortion demand and the "fire attack" at the end of October 2023 (blows against the door of the father's home), further pressure at the end of November 2023 resulting in the pizzeria being closed for three days, and finally the presence—a few hours after the crime—of Carmine Gallo and Nunzio Della Ragione at Francesco Sorrentino's home, as well as their passing by the victim's house with an explicit threat (the "sign of the cross") made in the presence of his wife.
Wiretaps, prison confessions, and the role of those under investigation
Despite a context described as marked by silence and fear, the order highlights the intercepted conversations between family members: in particular, brother Giacomo's outburst to a friend, with accusations directed at "Carminiello" (Gallo) and references to "Nunziello" (Della Ragione), and the demand "either twenty thousand euros or close the pizzeria."
Following the arrest of Nunzio Della Ragione, the picture – for the judge – becomes more clear: in intercepted prison conversations, Della Ragione, resentful toward Gallo, allegedly admits to having played a role in organizing and carrying out the murder, claiming to have "put his face on the line" and even procured the weapon.
Maione and the Fiat Panda: the car, the license plate, and the "assistance" after the ambush
As for Ivan Maione (listed as Gallo's "step-grandfather"), the order highlights a contribution deemed "particularly efficient." Indeed, a family conversation in October 2024 reveals that Maione allegedly took delivery of the gun and ammunition immediately after the attack, "taking it off" Gallo.
The white Panda filmed on the night of the murder has been linked to Maione: the warrant reconstructs the vehicle's ownership and also cites its license plate (the vehicle is likely believed to be cloned), with a chain of individuals interviewed by the Police (formal owner, sub-renter, and Maione himself), up until the State Police check on February 25, a few days after the crime, when the car was still reportedly in his possession.
The "voice" from the neighborhood and the accusation of the collaborator
Among the pieces of the puzzle, the order recalls Domenico Izzo's narrative, captured in another proceeding: just 36 hours after the crime (February 12, 2024), he reportedly identified the locations, dynamics, and perpetrators, speaking of "Carminiello" and "Nunziello," and also recalling the Gallo family's history of collaborating with justice.
The final element of consolidation, for the judge, are the statements of collaborator Salvatore Buonocore: he accuses Carmine Gallo of the murder of Davide Fiorucci with statements deemed specific and supported by objective and extrinsic evidence, in addition to the photographic identification of the suspects.
