A direct exchange between institutions and citizens to review the interventions in the Campi Flegrei area and the extraordinary measures implemented by the Government. This was the purpose of the meeting held yesterday evening at the Palazzo di Governo, chaired by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, and attended by the Special Commissioner for the Implementation of Public Interventions, Fulvio Maria Soccodato.
The meeting was attended by the mayors of Pozzuoli and Bacoli, the Civil Protection councilor of Monte di Procida, officials from the City of Naples, and representatives of the civic committees Pozzuoli Sicura and Nuova Dicearchia. At the heart of the discussion was the need to update the public on the status of ongoing activities and future plans, in an area affected by bradyseism and a growing demand for concrete solutions.
The committees have strongly urged the completion of the necessary investigations for the allocation of the financial contributions intended for citizens. On this point, the mayor of Pozzuoli has assured that all pending procedures will be completed within the established timeframe. The prefect, for his part, reiterated his utmost attention to the concerns raised, announcing a new meeting soon with the special commissioner, aimed at clarifying future commitments and ensuring timely and transparent information for the entire population.
The meeting also addressed the topic of public transportation in the Phlegraean Fields. The mayors present announced that they had engaged the Ministry of Transport, the Campania Region, and RFI (Italian Railways) regarding the critical issues related to the temporary closure of the Montesanto metro station, a strategic hub for transportation in the area. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue discussions and the scheduling of a new meeting shortly, while ongoing activities and measures remain under constant monitoring.

The meeting between the institutions and citizens was very important in clarifying the outstanding issues regarding financial contributions. However, I'm not sure the promises made will be kept, given similar situations in the past.
