Pozzuoli – The earth trembles again in the Phlegraean Fields. A new seismic swarm was recorded this morning starting at 10:33 a.m., as communicated by the INGV Vesuvius Observatory to the Municipality of Pozzuoli.
According to preliminary data, four tremors with magnitudes equal to or greater than 0.0 were detected, the strongest of which reached 1.7 (± 0.3). All events have been localized. Authorities emphasize that these are minor events and no damage to people or property has been reported at this time.
However, the Pozzuoli municipal administration immediately issued a warning to the public, urging them to exercise utmost caution. In the statement published on social media, the authority provided the contact numbers for any reports: the Municipal Police Operations Center (081/8551891) and the Civil Protection Department (081/18894400).
The Phlegraean Fields, a vast area of active volcanism, are constantly monitored for their dynamics. Seismic swarms, although low-energy, keep institutions and scientific research vigilant, ready to assess any developments in the phenomenon.
