Naples – 57 people were injured in accidents caused by firecrackers and fireworks exploding in Naples and its province on New Year's Eve. This figure is a sharp increase from last year, when 36 people were injured.
According to the Naples Police Headquarters, 41 people have already been discharged, while 16 remain under observation in local health facilities. At this time, authorities specify, none of the injured are in serious condition.
Specifically, 42 people were injured in the capital, including seven minors; all were treated and released. In the province, 15 people were injured, four of them minors.
The report refocuses attention on the risks associated with the improper use of pyrotechnic materials, often handled without adequate precautions and, in some cases, by unauthorized persons.
A phenomenon which, despite awareness campaigns and police checks, continues to mark the beginning of the new year with worrying numbers.

It's worrying to see the number of injuries has increased significantly compared to last year. Fireworks should be used more carefully and with the right precautions to avoid endangering people's health.
