A 46-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was taken by the Carabinieri and taken to prison in Santa Maria Capua Vetere to serve a four-and-a-half-year sentence for crimes aggravated by mafia methods.
CARINARO (CE) – On the gray morning of yesterday, January 26, 2026, Carabinieri officers from the Gricignano di Aversa station raided a home in Carinaro, in the Aversa countryside, to execute a final arrest warrant. The man in handcuffs is a 46-year-old man, a familiar face to investigators, facing charges for a long series of violent crimes.
The ruling, issued by the Attorney General's Office at the Naples Court of Appeal, ends the man's legal fugitive status, with a final sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison. The sentence marks the culmination of a trial for a series of extremely serious crimes: extortion, attempted extortion, robbery, receiving stolen goods, and illegal possession of weapons.
The crimes, as confirmed by the court, were committed between 2009 and 2014, sowing fear and violence in the municipalities of Carinaro and Gricignano di Aversa. Making the crimes even more disturbing is the aggravating circumstance of mafia methods, which, according to the investigation, characterized the 46-year-old's actions, placing them within a context of pressure and intimidation typical of organized crime.
The operation, coordinated by the Carabinieri of the Marcianise Company and the Naples Attorney General's Office, went smoothly. After the formalities, the man was escorted and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. This outcome, even years after the events, reaffirms the State's relentless action against those who have bloodied the region.
"The execution of the sentence sends a clear signal," emphasizes an institutional source close to the investigation. "Justice, even when the process is long, comes to demand its due, especially when the crimes undermine the freedom and security of citizens in ways typical of the Camorra." This is a message of deterrence in an area, the north of the province of Caserta, historically marked by the feuds of the Camorra clans known as the "Casalesi."
