CARINARO (CE). The area was heavily patrolled yesterday evening, January 2, 2026, when Carabinieri officers from the Gricignano di Aversa station reported a 40-year-old local man at large for unauthorized possession of altered keys and burglary tools.
The operation was initiated during an emergency operation, during which officers stopped a black Fiat Panda used by the man. The vehicle had already been investigated for previous reports of scams targeting elderly people, prompting the Carabinieri to investigate further.
The extended search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of several burglary tools and altered keys. The 40-year-old was unable to provide any credible explanation regarding the possession of the material, which was immediately seized and deposited at the competent Crime Scene Investigation Office.
The investigation revealed that the man had a prior conviction for property crimes. At the end of the operation, he was taken to the police station and reported to the Judicial Authority, who were promptly informed of the outcome of the investigation.
