Casavatore – The Municipal Administration, led by Mayor Fabrizio Celaj, has implemented active policies aimed at improving urban usability, traffic safety, and supporting the local economy, with particular attention to local businesses.
The ordinance states that facilitating vehicle access and parking in strategic areas of the municipality is a concrete tool for encouraging people to visit the city center, benefiting residents, families, and businesses.
In a previous Mayoral Ordinance, the Municipal Administration had ordered the experimental opening of the parking area located on Via Meucci during the Christmas period, until the Epiphany holiday.
The trial, having produced positive results in terms of improved use of the area, improved urban usability, a reduction in illegal parking, and improved management of traffic flows, without highlighting any critical issues regarding safety or public order, has led the Administration to deem it appropriate to reinstate the measure, extending its duration in order to consolidate its beneficial effects—given that the area is located near school buildings, with the resulting daily presence of traffic related to the drop-off and pick-up of students.
The free municipal parking lot will remain open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., while enforcement of this ordinance will be entrusted to the Casavatore Local Police Headquarters and other law enforcement agencies. Violations will be punished with the fines set forth in the Highway Code and applicable laws. This news has been enthusiastically welcomed by residents and business owners.
