Casavatore – Redevelopment work has begun on Via San Pietro, in the area in front of the N. Romeo and A. De Curtis school buildings. This is a significant project, as explained by Mayor Fabrizio Celaj, which is part of a broader urban improvement program, completing the redevelopment of an area already affected by work begun on the corner of Via Palizzi.

The goal is to redevelop the entire area and improve traffic flow, making it safer, more accessible, and more functional for residents, families, and students. Particular attention has been paid to this stretch of Casavatore, enhancing the existing facilities, including the two schools, the Family Center, and Piazza Mauro Orefice, which currently houses a Red Cross office, a vital community center.

This project was designed to restore decorum, safety, and greater livability to a central area of our city. During the meeting of the Fourth Permanent Council Commission on January 14th, the mayor explained, "Profitable work was done, and the new video surveillance regulation was unanimously approved.

A useful and necessary tool for improving road safety and combating all types of crime, with particular attention to illegal waste dumping and failure to comply with regulations, including those regarding proper waste disposal.

Heartfelt thanks to the City Councilors for their work and to the minority for their constructive support during the discussion, which contributed to a shared and unanimous outcome, demonstrating that serious and responsible discussion leads to concrete results for the community.

Now the final step remains: approval by the City Council, a crucial step to making the regulation fully operational. This is an important step toward a safer, more orderly, and more law-abiding city.

It's interesting to see how the redevelopment of Via San Pietro can benefit families and students. We hope the work is completed on time, but there are concerns about pedestrian safety during the work.
