Castellammare – The word "end" comes with a frosty statement signed by Piero De Luca. The Democratic Party, the coalition's majority shareholder, has decided to pull the plug on the administration led by Luigi Vicinanza.
An epilogue that matures in a turbulent evening, the result of two months lived dangerously amidst judicial files, suspicions of infiltration, and an now unbreathable political climate.
The Democratic Party's attack: "This cannot continue."
The Democratic Party's regional decision leaves no room for interpretation. Despite his reiterated personal esteem for Mayor Vicinanza—who he described as "not involved in the matters being investigated"—regional secretary Piero De Luca is categorical: the appointment of the Access Commission by the Prefect of Naples represents a point of no return.
"It's an act that imposes a clear position," De Luca explains. The overall assessment of the administrative situation and the shadows cast by ongoing investigations have made Democratic Party support an unsustainable burden.
Two months of passion: the resignation and the investigation
The house of cards has begun to seriously shake over the past eight weeks. At the center of the storm is a judicial investigation that has shaken the foundations of Palazzo Farnese, leading to the sudden resignations of two city councilors.
A signal that had already revealed the depth of the cracks within the majority. Despite the Mayor's attempts to shield himself, asserting his integrity and a break with the past, the political pressure had become unbearable.
The arrival of the Access Commission
The real "axe," however, was today's move by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari. The dispatch of the Commission of Inquiry to gain access to municipal documents—a procedure usually preparatory to dissolution due to criminal infiltration—has removed any remaining possibility of political defense. For the Democratic Party, the presence of state "inspectors" makes it impossible to continue the administrative process without being crushed by suspicion.
The Mayor between defense and isolation
Luigi Vicinanza, a veteran journalist turned politician, now finds himself alone in command of a ship that's taking on water from all sides. His defense, based on transparency and institutional loyalty, hasn't been enough to reassure his party's Roman and regional leaders.
Although the Democratic Party (PD) speaks of ongoing discussions with the council group to assess "future paths," the path to mass resignations or administration by a special administration seems clear. Castellammare is once again preparing for a period of institutional uncertainty.
In Castellammare di Stabia, the battle for enforcement of public land rules has resumed. Sorrento – The nervousness of a 45-year-old man from Castellammare di Stabia, who was arrested yesterday evening on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, did not go unnoticed. The operation was conducted by officers from the Sorrento Police Station, who were engaged in routine patrols along the main roads of the city.
In Torre Annunziata, the local port is a priority for the Campania Regional Council. Thanks to €34 million—€26,9 million from the Ministry of Infrastructure with CAP funds and €6,9 million in European resources obtained by the municipality—expansion and modernization works will begin. A bitter confrontation for Castellammare. This turning point…

The Democratic Party's decision is incomprehensible; I don't know if this choice was truly necessary. The resigned councilors played an important role, and now everything seems chaotic. Let's hope a solution is found before it's too late.
