Castellammare di Stabia – The Quisisana Palace and its botanical gardens risk rotting in bureaucratic decay. Base Popolare files an explosive question in the City Council, calling on the mayor and the relevant councilor to answer. Eleven cutting questions to expose delays and inertia.
Councilor Maurizio Apuzzo is blunt: "The Quisisana Royal Palace is among the few outstanding examples that demonstrate how it is possible to restore historic assets and launch high-level cultural activities, intertwining cultural and environmental heritage. Yet, the Municipality seems to be slumbering, betraying the projects funded by the CIPE and the hopes for the complex's revitalization."
The questions hit hard, one by one:
When will the Civic Museum on the third floor open, with the work already completed?
When will the Municipal Historical Archives headquarters be opened in the Royal Palace?
Is there a detailed redevelopment plan? Will it be implemented, taking advantage of all municipal spaces?
Is there a precise survey of the conditions of those environments for immediate use?
What steps are needed to integrate the Archaeological Museum of the Superintendency of Pompeii with the rest of the monument?
What is the relationship between the Municipality and the Monti Lattari Regional Park, especially regarding the use of the premises by the Authority?
What project is there to protect the botanical park and woods (the part not under the Superintendency), including the King's Fountains and the restoration of the environmental trail? When will the work begin?
When will Via Grottelle reopen? What funding has been requested or obtained from the Region?
When will they tear down the old school at the end of the entrance drive (left side) and redevelop the area?
When will they renovate the former loggers' house at the entrance to the avenue (left side), saving it from decay and vandals?
What maintenance plans are there for the recently restored driveway?
The question is a ticking time bomb: the city hall awaits concrete answers. Quisisana deserves more than empty promises.

It's true that the Quisisana Palace needs care and attention, but the questions posed by the councilor are very difficult to answer. It would be better if there were a clear plan, communicated to everyone. The deterioration cannot continue.
