Fear erupted this afternoon in the center of Cava de' Tirreni, where several gunshots were reportedly fired at a car parked along Viale Marconi, a short distance from the State Police Station.

According to initial reports, the attackers were two people who arrived on the scene in another car. At least four shots were fired.

At the time of the shots, the man was near his car. Realizing what was happening, he managed to escape by quickly moving away and taking cover in a nearby side street. Immediately afterward, the two perpetrators fled.

Police officers, along with forensic personnel from the Salerno Police Headquarters and the local police station, responded to the scene to conduct investigations and gather useful evidence. Investigators began reviewing video surveillance footage along the road and in surrounding areas to accurately reconstruct the suspects' route and movements.

The businessman was interviewed by investigators. The incident remains under investigation, and no motive has been ruled out at this time. Among the elements being examined is the presence, reported before the shooting, of another suspect who was believed to have been loitering near the car.
