The Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere has requested the arrest of Campania regional councilor Giovanni Zannini, a member of Forza Italia, under investigation for corruption and extortion. The request was made as part of an investigation coordinated by the investigating office headed by Prosecutor Pierpaolo Bruni.

In the same proceedings, the magistrates requested the application of a precautionary measure of residence banishment against Paolo and Luigi Griffo, father and son, entrepreneurs from Castel Volturno and owners of Spinosa Spa, a company active in the production of PDO buffalo mozzarella from Campania and its derivatives.

The investigation aims to shed light on alleged illicit relationships between politicians and businessmen in the Caserta area. The precautionary requests are now being examined by the preliminary investigations judge, who will decide whether to grant the measures requested by the Prosecutor's Office.
