Naples – Music at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium must not become a nightmare for those who live just meters from the stands. This was the key principle that emerged from the discussion held in the Stadium Management offices in Fuorigrotta, where institutions, civic committees, and promoters met to define the logistics of the major events scheduled for June 5-28, 2026.
The goal is clear: to avoid the acoustic and traffic "Wild West" of recent seasons. Under the pressure of Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, who has made listening to residents a political priority, an ordinance has been drafted that spells out strict rules for the installation of large-scale stage sets.
The new logistics map
The core of the agreement concerns the movement of heavy vehicles and the use of forklifts, which often cause vibrations and disturbing noises at night. Here are the key points of the plan:
Demarcated areas: Night operations will be limited exclusively to the intersection of Via Gabriele D'Annunzio, Via Pirandello, and Via Claudio.
Certain times: The traffic for the seven scheduled concerts cannot exceed five working nights and a total of eight days.
The route of the trucks: The giant trucks coming from the ring road will not roam the neighborhood. They will park in Largo Azzurri d'Italia, maintaining a safe distance from homes, with mandatory and short passages on Via Galeota and Via Tansillo.
The satisfaction of the committees
A diplomatic success that seems to have convinced even the harshest critics. The FIM Committee, which has been at the forefront of the fight against daytime and nighttime noise pollution for years, welcomed the new measures.
"We thank Mayor Manfredi for his swift action," said activist Daniele Polge. "Putting citizens first before the events begin is a sign of civility. We hope that what was agreed upon on paper will be strictly adhered to, to avoid the inconveniences we've experienced in the past."
The summer of 2026 promises to be the definitive test for a viable model of coexistence between Naples's tourist-musical vocation and the right to peace and quiet of those who live in the shadow of the temple of football.

We hope that everything that's been decided will be implemented and that the concerts won't cause any more disruption as they have in the past. Music should be a pleasure, not a problem for the people of the neighborhood.
I agree with you; it's essential to respect the residents. The measures must be strictly followed to avoid future problems, otherwise these meetings are pointless.
It's important that the music at the stadium doesn't disturb residents. We hope the established rules work well and lead to an improvement in the situation, especially for those who live nearby. It will be a welcome change.
