NAPLES. "Given the way the game unfolded, a draw is acceptable. These are games you risk losing. In the first half, there were two negative incidents for us, in which we could have done better. In the second half, we did well to keep our heads on our shoulders; we had the strength to score two goals and had as many disallowed. We have to keep doing what we're doing." These are the words of Antonio Conte, Napoli coach, to Dazn after the 2-2 home draw with Verona.
Conte avoids talking about favorites ahead of the match against Inter: "I'm not interested in talking about favorites. We know we're facing a strong team, one that has reached two Champions League finals in the last three years. We'll go there with great desire and determination. We'll keep an eye on the injuries, and whoever plays will always give their all. There's always media attention surrounding these matches."
The Italian coach also commented on Hojlund's disallowed goal: "I don't know where he should have put his arm. These are subjective VAR decisions that we have to accept." Despite the draw, Conte emphasized the team's response, ready to bounce back in the upcoming league matches.

Squalid refereeing
I agree with you, the team showed character, but there are still many things to fix. Game management needs to improve, especially in pressure situations like the one against Verona.
The match was interesting, but I'm disappointed by the incidents that penalized us. Conte is right in saying we need to keep working. I hope we can do better and win in the next matches.
