On Thursday morning, around 11:10 a.m., a large advertising sign collapsed outside a car dealership in Casapulla, in the province of Caserta. The structure, falling, hit four cars on display, causing serious damage.
No injuries, but inconvenience for residents
There were no passersby or customers present at the time of the collapse, so no injuries were reported. However, the falling sign completely blocked access to an eight-apartment building, leaving families trapped inside. The situation caused considerable distress among residents, who were forced to remain indoors for several hours.
Fire Brigade intervention
The Caserta Fire Department's regular team, a ladder truck from the Caserta Fire Department, and a crane from the Naples Provincial Fire Department responded to the scene. Removing the sign was complex and required dividing the structure into several pieces. Thanks to this intervention, access to the building was restored and the dealership's perimeter was secured.
