Benevento – Venanzio Rapolla, 68, a former Air Force colonel and pilot of the helicopter that crashed yesterday afternoon in the province of Benevento, remains in critical condition. The only passenger on board, 76-year-old businessman Pasquale Esposito from Sannio, also died in the accident.
Rapolla, who suffered burns over 90% of his body, was transferred overnight from the San Pio Hospital in Benevento to the Cardarelli burns center in Naples, via another rescue helicopter. Venanzio Rapolla's condition is very worrying. I hope the doctors can do everything they can for him. It's sad to see such a tragic situation, especially when lives like Pasquale Esposito's are at stake.
