Ercolano – A serious health emergency reportedly occurred on the afternoon of January 4th in Ercolano. A person suffering from severe depression reportedly attempted self-harm by ingesting muriatic acid. The incident was reported by the Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate association through its social media channels.

According to the report, no ambulance was available within the ASL Napoli 3 Sud area at the time of the call for help. Only the Ercolano medical car responded to the scene, forced to provide first aid without the ability to transport the patient. The ambulance arrived approximately twenty minutes later, allowing the man, with a critical condition, to be transferred to the Ospedale del Mare.

The incident, the association emphasizes, further confirms the serious criticalities of the emergency system. For days, there have been reports of severe congestion in the emergency rooms of the Maresca and Castellammare di Stabia hospitals, where ambulances have reportedly been blocked for over 36 hours, drastically reducing vehicle coverage across the area.

A management which, according to Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate, puts the safety of citizens and 118 operators at risk, making an immediate structural intervention ever more urgent to guarantee the right to health and timely assistance throughout the ASL Napoli 3 Sud area.

I hope he's well but is it possible that we've reached a point of collapse with the healthcare system, diagnostic tests, but with a year-long wait, emergency rooms that take a day to make a visit, hospitalizations on stretchers, ambulances that aren't there but how can it be done? It's not possible that nothing works if the staff isn't there, but a suffering human being must die.

Then you go through Corso Italia
And you see the parked ambulances
If you call them for help, in the meantime they ask you the 4th degree of questions.
You're already dead

What happened in Ercolano is very worrying. It seems the emergency system isn't working properly. It's important that the authorities take measures to improve the situation and ensure rapid assistance to citizens in need.

Just ask to be accompanied to the emergency room... If there are no ambulances available and the patient can be transported by car, he doesn't wait... In this specific case he could have gone by car

Mario Ruggiero, the worst is always ours. We always pay with our lives instead of paying those responsible to buy more equipment and, above all, very little staff. Hospitals, including emergency rooms, are empty, while the surrounding cities are overcrowded.
