Ercolano, Italy – Caught rummaging through the interior of a recently broken-in car, a 21-year-old Neapolitan man was arrested last night by officers from the Portici-Ercolano police station during a patrol on Via Gramsci.
The raid took place during the night, when the police noticed the young man searching inside a parked vehicle. Upon seeing the patrol car, an accomplice waiting in another car quickly fled, disappearing despite the attempted pursuit.
However, the officers' immediate intervention allowed them to apprehend the 21-year-old. After a quick inspection of the area, officers discovered that not only had one car been hit: two cars had their windows shattered and their interiors completely ransacked. The batteries had been removed from both vehicles.
When he was stopped, the young man was found in possession of several tools, including a wrench stolen shortly before from one of the vehicles. The 21-year-old was arrested on charges of aggravated theft, while the stolen goods and tools were promptly returned to their rightful owners. Meanwhile, investigations to identify the fugitive are ongoing.

I read the article about this 21-year-old who was arrested. It's really strange how people can break into cars, but I wonder if there have been other similar incidents in the area.
