Naples – An evening of ordinary madness unfolded yesterday in the streets of San Giovanni a Teduccio, transforming the neighborhood into a theater of high-speed chases. The protagonist of the incident was a 29-year-old Neapolitan man who, in an attempt to escape a traffic stop, didn't hesitate to use his car as a weapon against law enforcement.
The ramming and the pursuit
It all started on Via Camillo De Meis. Officers from the San Giovanni-Barra police station noticed a parked car with a man inside. Upon seeing the flashing lights, instead of showing his identification, the driver put it in gear and violently rammed the car, making a desperate escape through the neighborhood streets.
The ambush at the dead end
Under police pursuit, the 29-year-old made extremely dangerous maneuvers, endangering the safety of passersby, until he turned onto Via Paul Cezanne. Here, perhaps thinking he was losing his pursuers, he ended up in a dead end. Seeing himself hunted, he attempted a last, desperate move: he put the car in reverse, directly hitting another patrol car, one from the Ponticelli police station, which had quickly arrived to assist.
The fight and the arrest
In those moments of heightened tension, the man attempted to run over one of the officers who had gotten out of his patrol car, continuing on until he finally crashed into a low wall. Not even the impact stopped him: a violent struggle ensued before the officers managed to subdue him.
The young man, already burdened with specific previous convictions, now faces charges of assault, resisting a public official, and aggravated damage. Completing the charges was a complaint for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.

This article is truly incredible. The idea of using a car as a weapon is shocking. But I wonder, what goes through the minds of people like this 29-year-old? People's safety always comes first.
