Back to “The Pennicanza”: first episode of 2026 for the program Fiorello e Biggio, broadcast from Monday to Friday at 1.45pm on Rai Radio2 and in visual on channel 202 with the usual comedy, improvisation and a fast pace, even in the new year.
The episode could not help but open with a response to the joke from the last few days by Giorgia MeloniThe Prime Minister, during the recent press conference at the beginning of the year, declared that she 'wants to work with Fiorello'. “Okay Giorgia, I'll hire you – replies the showman –. But in black!”. Then he jokes: “I've already spoken to her, she doesn't want to appear in the video but she will work for us as an author!” The first comments 'signed by the Premier' arrive immediately via email: "The height of bad luck for a Democratic Party member? Going into government! Why is Giorgetti going to the body shop? He botched the maneuver! The difference between Schlein and a squirrel? None, they're both jealous!" But it doesn't end there: "At RAI, how do you distinguish a right-wing host from a left-wing one? The right-wing one works!" Guys, she's good. "What can Crosetto do for Greenland? The polar bear. Boy, she's really good!", Fiorello jokes, commenting. And in the end he even suggests Matteo Salvini: "Fiorello, take me too! I can fart with my armpits! I can even sing the Mameli anthem..."
There is no shortage of ironic comments about the future of the program: “Will there be a lot of new things in 2026? No! At Rai you can't, the top brass calls you and says, 'What are you doing?!' Just think, they made Tale e Quale, then Tali e Quali, then they'll do Talo e Qualo and Talu e Qualu. And Mediaset? They too! Big news on Canale 5: Zelig! Even on 'C'è posta per te' the envelope is rusty by now. The newest thing left at Rai is... the time signal!” “With all this chaos, how can we make an entertaining program?”, asks the showman. “Think of the hell that is in Iran – he concludes, making light of the situation. True, it is still less dangerous there than Termini station…now, when I have to take a train, I prefer to go to Tehran, I feel more at peace!”.
The episode is full of connections: in the video call the first to call Fiorello is Paolo SorrentinoAnd the showman rejoices: “This is the first time this phone has hosted an Oscar!” The famous director starts from football, his great passion: "Inter-Napoli? I watched it at home with my son. I even dislocated my arm celebrating!" Then he comments on his new film: "Where did I get the inspiration? I only watch football. At a certain point, I get bored and make a film to stave off depression. Would I want it nominated for an Oscar? No, too much work. I'd rather watch football at home!"
After Sorrentino, it's the turn of AmadeusAnd Fiorello prepared an 'uncomfortable' interview for him... or almost. “Love, when will you return… to Radio Deejay?”, asks Fiore who then doubles down: “Would you like to host the San Marino Festival?” The host replies ironically: “Yes, but only in tandem with Biggio!” And yet: “Is it true that you no longer order online so you don't have to open packages? And that you asked Trump to bomb the Nove?” “Fake news, I'm for peace.” – replies Amadeus -. At most I would tell him not to buy Greenland… but Nine!”.
The 2026 premiere of “La Pennicanza” therefore closes with Fiorello on the notes of 'Strangers In The Night', a tribute to Paul Biondo, master of film post-production: “A great person to me and to all who knew him. And above all, my father-in-law.”, the memory of the showman.

The episode of La Pennicanza seems to have been really funny and full of jokes. Even though I disagree with some of the comments, Fiorello's interaction with the guests is always interesting and engaging. I hope they continue to surprise us.
