Tense moments erupted last night in Fuorigrotta, where Carabinieri officers from the Naples-Bagnoli Company stopped a car with three men inside during a check on Viale Kennedy. The search resulted in the seizure of a Beretta FS pistol in 9x19 Parabellum caliber with the serial number removed, hidden behind the front seats.
According to the military's findings, the weapon was ready for immediate use: a round in the chamber and a magazine loaded with 14 rounds. Also found in the passenger compartment were a knife and other blades, a bag of marijuana, jewelry believed to be of dubious origin, and approximately
3.000 euros in cash.
Domenico Ronga, 35, from Villaricca, Emanuele Guarino, 35, from Capua, and Alessandro Sorvino, 20, from Frattaminore, were arrested. The three were charged with possession of a clandestine weapon and taken to Poggioreale prison to await a sentencing hearing.
Ronga's position is under particular scrutiny: he recently finished serving a 14-year and 11-month sentence for his involvement, as a driver, in the robbery of the OGM jewelry store in Maddaloni (April 2013), during which Carabiniere Tiziano Della Ratta was killed in a firefight with the gang.
The seized gun will be subjected to fingerprint and ballistic tests to determine whether it was used in other incidents, including robberies or crimes. Meanwhile, the Carabinieri are reconstructing the movements and objectives of the three to determine why they were traveling armed and with cash and valuables in their car.

The article explains the situation in Fuorigrotta very well, but it seems strange to me that so many weapons are in circulation. It's important that the authorities investigate thoroughly to understand how these men obtained that weapon.
