Capaccio– They chose the wrong path and ended up near a dangerous cliff. A hike on Mount Polveracchio, near Salerno, turned into a rescue operation for a group of Neapolitan scouts, saved yesterday evening by three teams from the Campania National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS).
The situation became critical when the young hikers, following an incorrect route, reached a particularly exposed and inaccessible area. Having assessed the impossibility of returning alone and the potentially dangerous conditions, a call for help was issued.
The CNSAS technicians reached the group on the cliff, finding the boys freezing and frightened. After securing them, they escorted them away from the critical area and then down the valley, where the Carabinieri, the Fire Brigade, and an ambulance were waiting.
One of the young men, who had felt slightly ill, was taken to the paramedics for medical evaluation. The rest of the group returned home without further consequences, thanks to a coordinated effort that prevented the worst from happening on a night in early January.

The excursion was poorly planned, and this led to dangerous situations. It's important for scout groups to carefully choose their routes to avoid such critical situations.
@follower Monte Polveracchio isn't exactly in the area where the scouts dispersed. Please correct the story.
