Naples – Transforming pain into hope, mourning into a concrete gesture of solidarity. This is the spirit behind the second edition of the "Andrea Mellone Memorial," scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 8:30 PM at the Teatro Cilea in Naples. The evening is dedicated to the memory of Andrea, the 17-year-old who tragically lost his life in a car accident on February 1, two years ago.
The event, conceived by Father Gennaro Mellone, is intended not only to be a celebration of memory, but also an opportunity to reiterate the importance of road safety and to support those who fight every day for the lives of the little ones. All proceeds from the event, net of out-of-pocket expenses, will be donated to the Santobono-Pausilipon Foundation, a leading pediatric center in Naples.
A star-studded cast for solidarity
The evening, hosted by Magda Mancuso, will feature numerous figures from the Neapolitan artistic scene on the Cilea stage, including pop music exponents, classical singers, and well-known cabaret figures. Artistic coordination is entrusted to Francesco Viglietti, spokesperson for the project, supported by Annibale Abbazia.
A mix of genres and styles united by a single thread: the city's embrace of the Mellone family and support for the charitable cause.
Institutions and civil commitment
The event will see strong participation from institutions and associations, demonstrating the importance of road safety for the community. The leaders of the Santobono-Pausilipon Foundation will be in attendance: President Giovanni Siola, Director Flavia Matrisciano, and Silvia Signorelli, responsible for welcoming and supporting patients' families.
Key figures in the fight for accident prevention and support for victims' families have also confirmed their presence. Among the expected guests are the Honorable Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who has always been active on these issues, and representatives of the Naples chapter of the Automobile Club Italia (ACI).
Significant participation from trade associations will be provided, sharing their testimony of pain and resilience. Speakers will include Biagio Ciaramella, vice president of the Italian Association of Family Members and Road Victims (AIFVS), along with Elena Ronzullo and Rosa Di Bernardo, president and vice president, respectively, of the Association of Courageous Mothers and Road Victims (AMCVS).
An event that combines art and civic engagement, to never forget Andrea and to build, note by note, a safer future on our roads.

The event seems very important and touching, but I don't understand why only Andrea should be remembered; there are many other road victims. It's a nice gesture, but it should be more inclusive; everyone deserves to be remembered.
