Giugliano – The investigation into waste management involving the municipalities of Giugliano and Marano is moving toward trial. The North Naples Prosecutor's Office has scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 22nd for 40 people, who have requested indictments.
The most significant political and judicial development, however, is the definitive exit of Nicola Pirozzi, former mayor of Giugliano in the Democratic Party. His case has been officially dismissed: Pirozzi is not on the list of suspects who will appear before the GUP (Preliminary Hearing Judge).
The defensive strategy
The former mayor, who began his term in 2020, successfully demonstrated his innocence in the disputed facts thanks to a defense that involved him personally. Assisted by Professor Vincenzo Maiello and, in the initial phase, by attorney Marco Sepe, Pirozzi had already provided extensive explanations both before the preliminary investigations judge and the Court of Review.
The briefs and hearings produced convinced investigators of the correctness of his actions, leading to the closure of the proceedings against him before they even reached the courtroom. The prosecution's case against the other 40 individuals involved, including administrators and technicians, remains in place, and they will learn their fate in less than three months.

Giugliano– The trail of blood staining the roads between Naples and the surrounding province continues in this dramatic start to 2026. Yet another cross was erected this evening in Varcaturo, a coastal hamlet of Giugliano, where a 31-year-old man lost his life in a violent car accident. The fatal impact in…
Giugliano - Walking through many public spaces in the province of Naples today brings to mind places that formally exist but are devoid of life. There's no shortage of facilities or spaces, just a lack of maintenance: a fleeting presence that seems to vanish immediately after the opening ceremonies, leaving behind decay and neglect. Those who pay the price are especially the...

The situation is very complex, and I believe it's important to clarify these facts. It's good that investigations are underway, but I hope everyone has the opportunity to adequately defend themselves without prejudice.
