Ischia – Officers at the Ischia Police Station yesterday evening reported a local eighteen-year-old for illegally carrying weapons or offensive objects. The boy, already known to law enforcement due to a criminal record, was arrested inside a business in the center of Ischia.

The intervention was triggered in real time thanks to a report received through the YouPol app, the alert system that allows citizens to communicate directly with law enforcement. A user had reported the presence of a young man armed with a knife inside the store.

The police, alerted immediately, reached the premises within minutes, managing to locate and arrest the suspect. During the search, the officers found a knife with a 20-centimeter blade on the boy, which was seized on the scene.

The young man was reported to the judicial authorities. The incident further demonstrates the effectiveness of the YouPol tool in ensuring rapid law enforcement interventions on the island.

It's true, the situation is worrying. We must do something to stop the violence, even if it's difficult. Perhaps more education in schools could help prevent such serious incidents.

It's incredible how such things can happen in a small place like Ischia. The boy should have been more careful and not carried a knife. I hope checks are increased for safety.
