On the evening of December 31st, in Ischia, two emergency responders were brutally attacked while providing assistance during an emergency. The driver, injured in the face, ear, neck, and head, suffered trauma that continues to cause severe headaches. The ambulance, an essential lifesaving vehicle, was severely damaged.

The incident was made public by the emergency driver himself, who forwarded medical reports and a formal complaint to Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli. The released images show obvious injuries and signs of vandalism on the vehicle.

The victim's testimony

"During the rescue, we were violently attacked," the victim said. "I suffered head injuries that are still causing me intense pain. Not everything is visible in the photos, but the medical reports speak for themselves."

The incident, according to reports, is linked to a hotel accused of selling illegal tourist packages, frequented by individuals with criminal records. This situation has transformed a routine operation into a mortal danger for those working on the front lines.

Deputy Borrelli's warning

"It's unacceptable that those providing assistance are attacked," thunders Borrelli. "This is yet another episode of gratuitous violence against essential workers. Attacking a 118 operator undermines a foundation of safety and civility."

The Campania MP calls for thorough investigations and urgent measures to protect healthcare workers, who are often exposed to extreme risks without adequate protection. "We cannot tolerate injuries among those who save lives. We need clear responsibilities and immediate action."

Andrea D'Andrea isn't just talking badly about Campania. These things happen all over the world. However, it's convenient to only speak badly about Campania. I'm asking for a friend. Isn't that jealousy? If you get the chance, travel around the world and you'll see what kind of people there are. They're 10 times worse than the people of Campania. This is coming from someone who's traveled and still travels around the world.

I see Leonardo Taliercio as well informed, a bit like the lady who says “the attackers are from the north”.
Maybe he went to the scene and saw it for himself?

Luigi Patalano: Oh, okay, and where does it say they're tourists from the north? In which local newspaper? Can you post the article below?

Isabelle Turiello, the photo of the "destroyed" ambulance was on Teleischia. I'm certainly not looking at the finger, but at the moon. But to make people look at the moon, you don't necessarily have to write EXAGGERATED BULLSHIT...!!! As for where the tourists come from, I have no idea at all, but I'd like to know. In one case, it would surprise me, and in another, not even a little... Thanks in advance for any correct information...

Did they call them to beat them up? I don't think if you call them there's an emergency unless they're crazy there must be a reason.

I'm well-informed about the facts, so since you don't know anything, don't give false information to others, especially on social media.

The fact itself is shameful and deplorable, without ifs or buts, it must simply be condemned!
No offense intended, but some of the comments are shocking. This isn't a competition to determine whose behavior is more disgusting in the North or the South! This constant back-and-forth of "it happened in the South"/"people from the North did it" makes no sense, in my opinion. Attacking an ambulance is an uncivilized act, regardless of who commits it.
Someone then tries to find a justification: "There must be a reason..."
But do you really do that?

Isabelle Turiello, if they cause the death of a relative of yours because of their delay, perhaps a little anger would even be justified.
We'll have to see how things went.
