The 2025-2026 Italian Lottery confirms its golden moment: the first prize of 5 million euros was won in Rome, while the edition closed with numbers not seen in over fifteen years.
A total of 9,6 million tickets were sold, an 11% increase over last year, allowing 384 prizes to be awarded for a total prize pool of over €22,6 million.
First prize in Rome, the store makes history
The €5 million ticket was purchased in Rome, at the Ciavaglia Daniele lottery shop at Via Cassia 664. This operation has rightfully entered the history of the Italian Lottery. Also in Lazio, in Ciampino, the €2,5 million ticket was sold at the Relay Ciampino Airside lottery shop at Via Appia Nuova 1651.
Other millionaire prizes: Emilia-Romagna and Sardinia
The €2 million prize was won in Quattro Castella, in the province of Reggio Emilia, thanks to a ticket purchased at the Verona Andrea lottery shop, located at Via Giuseppe Di Vittorio 39/A.
In Sardinia, a €1,5 million prize was won in Jerzu, in the province of Nuoro: the winning ticket was sold at the Piras Pier Giulio shop, located at Via Umberto I 263, bringing one of the biggest wins of the year to the heart of Ogliastra.
Lazio still the protagonist
Completing the five first-tier prizes is the €1 million ticket, sold in Albano Laziale, once again in the Lazio region. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Bianchi Patrizia lottery shop, located at Corso Giacomo Matteotti 12.
In addition to the millionaire prizes, 300 "minor" wins
In addition to the five main prizes (5, 2,5, 2, 1,5, and 1 million euros), the Committee for the Execution of Operations Relating to Deferred Draw Lotteries has ordered the awarding of 306 additional prizes of 100.000, 50.000, and 20.000 euros, for a total amount of 22.688.000 euros.
Added to these are the 78 daily prizes, bringing the total winnings to 384 prizes overall.
The special prize and the novelty of this edition
For the first time, a special prize of €300.000 was introduced, won by ticket M291089, sold in Auronzo di Cadore, in the province of Belluno.
Awards also to retailers
The retailers from which the winning tickets were purchased will receive prizes totaling €188.000, in recognition of the key role of the sales network.
Ticket verification and online access boom
Winning tickets can be verified online on the Customs and Monopolies Agency website and on the official Italian Lottery portal. However, as reported by Agimeg, the Agency's website is slow due to the extremely high number of visits in the hours following the draw.
The live announcement and the role of “Affari Tuoi”
The results were announced by Mario Lollobrigida, director of gaming at the Customs and Monopolies Agency, during a live broadcast of Affari Tuoi. "About a million more tickets were sold than last year," the director emphasized.
This result was achieved thanks to the joint efforts of the tobacconist network, the Brightstar concessionaire, the State Monopolies Agency, and, above all, the partnership with the television program, which continues to be a key driver of the Italian Lottery's success.

It's interesting that the Italian Lottery has been so successful, but I wonder if these prizes are really that significant for the winners. Furthermore, ticket sales have increased, but I don't know if this will lead to more winners.
