Rome – Madonna surprises again with a tribute to Italian music: the American pop star has released a cover of “La Bambola,” Patty Pravo’s historic 1968 hit.
The song, sung in Italian, was released on the main digital platforms and was chosen as the soundtrack for the new Dolce & Gabbana advertising campaign.
The track was released under the official title "La bambola (for Dolce & Gabbana – The One)." The video was uploaded to YouTube yesterday and, in the first few hours, has already surpassed 67 views. The situation is different on streaming platforms: on Spotify and Apple Music, the release date, curiously, appears as October 1, 2025.

Madonna hasn't yet accompanied the release with any posts or comments on her social media channels. A short teaser for the campaign, featuring an excerpt from the song, did appear on Dolce & Gabbana's official Instagram account.
“La bambola,” written by Ruggero Cini, Franco Migliacci, and Bruno Zambrini, was Patty Pravo’s first major hit and reached number one in the Italian charts, becoming one of the iconic pop songs of the 1960s.

It's interesting that Madonna decided to reinterpret such a famous song as "La Bambola," but I hope her style doesn't change the song's original meaning too much. Italian music deserves respect and attention.
