Marcianise – The state's offensive against environmental crimes in the Land of Fires continues unabated. This morning, Saturday, January 31st, the Carabinieri of the Marcianise station dealt a new blow to the phenomenon of illegal dumping, identifying and seizing three large areas within the industrial hub of the ASI Zone.

The blitz through the streets of the industrial area

The operation was launched as part of the extraordinary territorial control operations, coordinated to combat the uncontrolled dumping of industrial and civil waste. The officers, combing the main arteries of the production area, focused their attention on Via Flak, Via Agnelli, and Via Ford.

Right next to the warehouses and along the service roads, the police found themselves faced with veritable piles of debris, accumulated illegally over time in contempt of all environmental regulations.

Three hundred cubic meters of poisons and construction waste

The scale of the mess became clear during the surveys: the Carabinieri estimated a total mass of approximately 300 cubic meters of waste. The scope of the illegal activity is vast and worrying: not only common municipal solid waste was found, but also, above all, special and hazardous waste.

The materials seized include construction waste and plasterboard; plastics, bituminous membranes, and parts from discarded household appliances; and containers of used paint, which are potentially toxic to the soil.

The area is under seizure and investigations are underway.

The three areas were immediately cordoned off and placed under criminal seizure against unknown persons. The purpose of the measure is twofold: to secure the status of the area for investigation and to prevent new "environmental pirates" from continuing to dump materials at the site.

Judicial custody of the areas has been entrusted to the acting President of the ASI Consortium of Caserta. Meanwhile, the Judicial Authority has been informed of the raid; investigations are now continuing at a rapid pace to identify those responsible for the spills and the companies or individuals who fueled this open-air landfill.

It's a bad thing that happens in our area, but I don't know if the authorities are really doing enough to stop this problem. The waste continues to accumulate, and people don't seem to care about the environmental consequences.
