MARCIANISE. A domestic dispute escalated into violence, leading to the arrest of a 43-year-old local man, detained by the Carabinieri of San Nicola la Strada yesterday afternoon. The man is charged with mistreatment of family members or cohabitants and assault after making death threats and physically assaulting his live-in partner, including throwing objects, in the presence of their minor son.
The military's intervention was triggered by a call for help to 112, reporting a violent argument taking place inside the home. When the Carabinieri arrived, the man was located immediately after the incident. On-site investigations revealed a pattern of violent and harassing behavior that, according to what emerged, had been ongoing since January 2025.
The victim, a 39-year-old woman, sustained injuries that were deemed curable within two days. She had never previously filed a complaint for similar incidents and immediately refused placement in a protected facility. However, the procedures established to protect the victim were activated and the adoption of protective measures required by current legislation was proposed. The 43-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto and, by order of the judicial authorities, transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.
