The Asterix Youth Center on Via Domenico Atripaldi is trying to turn the page. The Naples City Council has approved a settlement agreement with the non-profit organization CallystoArts, ending a legal dispute and ensuring the continuity of activities for local youth.

The measure, proposed by Youth Policy Councilor Chiara Marciani, provides for the renewal for another six years of the free concession of the multipurpose room located on the first floor of the building, which recently made headlines for an incident of vandalism. The agreement resolves the dispute arising from water damage to the premises, a matter that had led the parties to the civil court.

With the settlement, the Municipality avoids the costs and risks of legal action, while the association agrees to waive pending proceedings and carry out the restoration work on the interior spaces at its own expense. The work must begin within 45 days of the administration's final resolution of the leaks. CallystoArts will contribute a portion of the maintenance work to the rooftop terrace.

The agreement represents an important step towards restoring full functionality to a space considered an educational and cultural hub for many local children, strengthening the collaboration between the Municipality and local associations.

The agreement between the Municipality and CallystoArts is good news, but there are still many areas that need improvement, such as the security of the facility and prevention of frequent acts of vandalism. We hope the work begins soon.
