Naples – She died in the emergency room of the private Villa Betania clinic in Naples, where she had been taken due to illness and left waiting to be admitted.
The case concerns Clotilde Cotecchia, 86, whose death led to her son's report and the seizure of her body, which is now available to the judicial authorities for an autopsy.
According to the complaint filed by Corrado Perillo, assisted by his lawyer Sergio Perillo, the woman was taken to the health facility on the morning of January 2nd. After triage, which took place in the afternoon, the elderly woman was found to be alert and conscious, although she required treatment. Her son left the clinic, confident that the medical staff would take care of her.
The next day, however, came a dramatic epilogue. Returning to the emergency room, the man found his mother still in the emergency room, motionless. Another patient reportedly told him that she had been in that state for at least two hours.
After noting the woman's lack of reaction and requesting medical attention, which, according to the complaint, did not arrive immediately, the woman was transferred to another room. Shortly thereafter, her son was informed of her death.
The complaint was filed with the Carabinieri at the Ponticelli station. "The incident presents extremely serious human, medical, and criminal implications," the lawyer emphasizes, requesting full clarification of the surveillance, assistance, and response times within the emergency room.
By order of the judicial authorities, the body was seized and transferred to the morgue of the Policlinico of Naples, where it remains awaiting an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the Betania Clinic in Naples has initiated an internal investigation. The general management expressed its condolences to the family and confirmed the opening of an audit to verify compliance with protocols.
"The patient," said General Manager Vincenzo Bottino, "arrived in extremely critical clinical condition. After triage, she was diagnosed with severe sepsis from bilateral pneumonia and was awaiting transfer to the ward."
The organization reiterates its confidence in the judiciary and urges everyone to await the outcome of the investigation before making any final judgments. "Maximum transparency," Bottino concluded, "but no premature media trials."

It's normal... you need to get compensation.
Mena Sannino, unfortunately, the family doctor has become a mirage
But at 88, is it conceivable that someone can pass on to another life? Doctors and nurses don't have paranormal powers!
Carlito, exactly, my GP doesn't want to come to my house even though he knows my mother is old, and it's disgusting, we need doctors in Ponticelli, we can't take it anymore.
This story is very sad and makes us reflect on the healthcare system, but there are many things we don't fully understand. Hopefully, the investigation will clarify what happened and whether there was any negligence.
Emergency rooms are too crowded and doctors are too few. It's not the hospitals' fault but the institutions' that don't provide.
Rosario Alfano for a measly salary...how disgusting it is, always complaining and saying things! Enough, the people can't take it anymore!! Change jobs then!!
I was there last night for a kidney injury, they immediately gave me support and helped me compared to other times when they made me skip and anyway I heard something bad that a nurse was telling a Doctor DUTTO if he did pava and white code or emergency room was vacant I WOULD LIKE to tell the lady and TASSE KA PAVAMM amma pava semp not enough good salaries they get them and then the DOCTOR didn't complain but she mha
Marisa del Vecchio, what does this mean? Shame on you, you freak... what have we come to, how disgusting!
Carlito, the beauty of Facebook... giving voice to someone named... CARLITO... what educational qualifications do you have, Carlito? What training do you have to give such a detailed opinion... I wonder what medical experience you have to give this opinion of yours that we're all proud of...
Agostino Pierpaolo Rocco, you are great... but unfortunately ignorance always has a voice and speaks loudly... the desperate have mistaken hospitals and doctors for social safety nets... it will be funny when in 10 years the public emergency rooms will be closed... and they will go to private hospitals... if they have the money, they will treat them... if they don't have the money... well, they can pray...
Rosario Alfano, shut up, it's much better, and think...
Rosario Alfano
I've been suffering from foot pain for a year and a half, I'm going crazy because of an orthopedic doctor at Cardarelli, for a trivial fall from a step because my foot got stuck, I had a fracture and after the operation I found myself with two fractures it ruined my life, I'm sorry I didn't hit him, he knows he made a mistake because he wasn't sure of himself,,
He himself confirmed that it was not a serious fracture, he is a coward, I hope he has to suffer like me
A clarification: Villa Betania is NOT a private clinic, but a public hospital
In fact, Luisa Di Nunzio's son also left her alone
The problem is that healthcare is a disgrace!!!! Too many people... too few doctors in the emergency rooms and it's a war!!! It seems like Baghdad. Go in the morning and go out at night!!! If you're lucky... Stamm Accisssss
Rosario Alfano
That's their job to save Humans.
If they make mistakes they have to pay
The law takes care of it
Condolences
Anna Rita Iannone Bastardi must suffer the same fate
Rosario Alfano heeeeee we know and understand very well how it works and not just now when there are certainly critical issues, I'm talking about times of peace, let's take a year at random? But I can remind you of many years, let's say 2008, where arrogance, stupidity, insolence, and rudeness reigned supreme in emergency rooms? Do you know how many times I had to hold back from using violence, and suffer, for the love of those I was taking to the emergency room! Even one Oronzo, and I was talking about it just today, said to my daughter... are you breathing? It means you're alive! That doctor should be thankful that she was taken to another hospital and they did what they had to do, otherwise by now there would have been one less Oronzo doctor on the face of the Earth! BE QUIET! If we speak it's not to discriminate, but because we've been there!
Rosario Alfano you have the verb "to have"...
On the twentieth I too spent two days in a chair with a serious heart problem but it is not their fault in fact they are very good doctors and nurses the problem is not the hospital and the region that does not increase doctors and nurses we have to thank Mr. de Luca with the forms set aside in seaside hospitals there are more security guards than doctors
Marisa del Vecchio, since they don't have paranormal powers like you say, but it's a matter of competence, please, since you're not 88, we'll let you through the 24-hour gate much earlier? What are you thinking? Does an 88-year-old have to die? Death is for everyone, even for you, you know?
Mena Sannino even a headache can be a serious symptom, an alarm bell…
Angelo Caserta I think that 10 years is too long, maybe even 5 years, the emergency room situation is serious, we went from 80% to 40% in the space of 3/4 years after the pandemic, many nurses and doctors go to the private sector or to Europe.
Carmela Di Napoli don't put words in my mouth... I said that you can't always avoid death, especially if you're old, doctors can't always avoid it.
Bethany is not private and I can tell you that my son who was ill with cancer was the centre of attention of Doctor Bottino and all the medical staff, my son is no longer here but if I had to go back I would take him there
ONLY AFTER HOURS OF WAITING AFTER THEY HAVE REGISTERED YOU THEY CALL YOU, THEY NEED AN INSPECTOR TO CONTROL UNDER THE EMERGENCY ROOM IF THEY RESPECT THE PROTOCOL, FOR THEM WE ARE NUMBERS THEY ONLY CONCERN THE ACCESSES FOR THE REFUND, HOW DISGUSTING,
