The Carabinieri from the Capodimonte station, on anti-pickpocket duty in civilian clothes, proved providential: they managed to capture the scooter's license plate number despite the cover.

A few minutes later, investigators identified the vehicle and traced its owner: Alessandro Nacarlo, a 52-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record. Carabinieri raided his apartment. The man attempted to flee from the balcony but was stopped and arrested on the spot.
