Naples – State Police conducted a raid in the heart of Naples' historic center last night, where a 45-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested for resisting a public officer, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of narcotics, and violation of special surveillance obligations. The man was also charged with receiving stolen goods.
The operation was triggered following a report to the Operations Room. Officers from the Decumani and Vicaria police stations responded to the scene and, upon reaching the indicated residence, were approached by a clearly agitated woman. The woman reported that she was unable to return home due to her husband's presence.
Upon entering the apartment, the officers found the man sitting at a table while consuming drugs. A gun was lying next to him. Upon seeing the officers, the 45-year-old attempted to attack them, but was subdued after a struggle.
During the search, a 7.65 caliber semi-automatic pistol with five rounds of ammunition inserted was found on the table, as well as a shopping bag containing four more rounds of the same caliber and seven 6.35 caliber rounds. In another bag, approximately five grams of cocaine, a quantity of hashish, and a precision scale were found.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the weapon was stolen. The man was then arrested and turned over to the judicial authorities.
