Another theft, yet another, at a Neapolitan business. This time, the thieves targeted the "Elettrostore Cavalleggeri" store at Viale Cavalleggeri d'Aosta 121, which was hit during the night between January 25th and 26th. This incident rekindles the spotlight on the problem of petty crime, which has long been a source of concern for merchants in the western part of the city.
In the morning, the owner found his shop burglarized and expressed his bitterness in harsh words: "I am yet another victim of these rabble. The other night I was robbed in my shop. I wish these individuals all the harm they can do to those who work so hard." This outburst captures the climate of exasperation experienced by many business owners in the neighborhood, who report a growing sense of insecurity and loneliness.
MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli of the Green-Left Alliance also weighed in on the case, calling it a worrying sign for the entire area. "The theft suffered by Elettrostore in Cavalleggeri is yet another slap in the face for those who struggle to keep businesses open in the area. This isn't just financial damage, but an attack on the serenity of an entire neighborhood. We can't allow shopkeepers to have to live with the anguish of finding their shutters up or their premises emptied every morning," he said.
The MP calls for increased enforcement and more effective use of investigative tools. "The neighborhood streets need to be patrolled more frequently, especially at night, and full use must be made of video surveillance footage to identify those responsible. My solidarity goes out to the owners: we will continue to raise these complaints so that the institutions can guarantee the safety that citizens and workers deserve."
