Naples – The fight against widespread lawlessness on the streets of Naples continues unabated. The Naples Metropolitan Police, under the leadership of Commander Lucia Rea, has struck a new blow against the phenomenon of vehicles with foreign license plates circulating illegally in the area.

The latest operations, carried out in the last few hours, have brought the total number of cars seized in recent months to 30, confirming a trend of increasingly stringent controls.

The attempted bribery in Pozzuoli

The most sensational incident occurred near Via Campana, in the municipality of Pozzuoli. During a roadblock, officers stopped an Alfa Romeo Giulietta with Bulgarian license plates. However, a technical inspection of the vehicle revealed a completely different story than stated: the car's chassis had been clearly counterfeit.

In an attempt to escape severe legal consequences, the driver attempted to "buy" the officers' silence by offering them money. This gamble proved costly: the man was reported to the judicial authorities not only for counterfeiting, but also for incitement to corruption.

Widespread checks on the territory

The operation continued today with the seizure of a Fiat 500 with Polish license plates, intercepted as part of the same monitoring operations. These operations aim to target the fraudulent use of foreign license plates, often used to evade taxes, Highway Code penalties, or to conceal the illicit origin of vehicles.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they will remain vigilant: their goal is to ensure maximum road safety and restore law and order throughout the metropolitan area, countering any scheme to circumvent national traffic regulations.

It's right that we should be carrying out stricter checks on cars with foreign license plates, but I wonder if the money spent on checks is justified, because there are so many problems and people need help.
