Naples – Law enforcement continues to clamp down on the city's drug dealing hubs. Over the past 24 hours, State Police officers have completed two separate operations as part of the Naples Police Headquarters' extraordinary anti-drug operations, culminating in the arrest of two people and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics.

The raid in the Dante neighborhood. The first operation was carried out by officers from the Dante Police Station. Following a targeted investigative effort, officers raided the home of a 52-year-old Neapolitan woman. During the search, they discovered a significant quantity of drugs: a bag containing approximately 300 grams of marijuana. The woman was immediately arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell.

Chase on Via Sopramuro. A different scenario, but the same outcome, on Via Sopramuro, where officers from the Vicaria-Mercato police station caught a 21-year-old Romanian man, already known to law enforcement, selling a dose of marijuana to a buyer in exchange for cash. Upon seeing the uniforms, the young man attempted a desperate escape into the heart of the neighborhood, attempting to discard a package.

The attempt, however, was futile: the officers stopped him after a brief resistance. The seizure included 10 doses of cocaine and €80 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity. The 21-year-old will face charges not only for drug dealing, but also for resisting arrest.

As part of the operation on Via Sopramuro, the police also arrested the young dealer's customer. The man, found in possession of the newly purchased dose, was reported to the Prefecture as a drug user.

Yes, it's true that there have been arrests, but there's no real change in the drug dealing centers. I wonder what will happen after these interventions and if there will be further measures.

Drug dealing is a serious issue, and I think the authorities need to do more to address it. Operations are helpful, but simply arresting people isn't enough; prevention is also important.

It's interesting to see how law enforcement is combating drug trafficking in Naples, but I wonder whether these operations are truly effective in the long term. The situation is complex and requires a more holistic approach.
