Naples – The three criminals who, on the night between Friday and Saturday, sowed panic in the Spanish Quarter, shooting Gianluca Pisacane, brother of current Cagliari coach and former footballer Fabio Pisacane, are numbered.
Officers from the Montecalvario Police Station and the Naples Flying Squad have closed ranks around those responsible.
The footage from numerous video surveillance cameras installed in the area was crucial to the investigation: the faces of the attackers, who acted uncovered, were clearly captured by the electronic eyes, allowing investigators to trace their identities.
The parents' shocking story
Adding to the disturbing truth of the story is the testimony of the victim's parents, Andrea Pisacane and Assunta Pecoraro, owners of the popular restaurant-pub "PisaDog19" and a B&B in the area. Speaking to Tg3 Campania, the father recounted with disarming clarity the brutality of the attack his son suffered.
"They put the gun near my son's leg and fired two shots," said Andrea Pisacane. His father was with Gianluca at the time of the attack, which occurred shortly after closing time, as they were walking home.
"What happened? They attacked us. One of them, who had a beer in his hand, threw it in Gianluca's face. They argued. Then one of them grabbed a gun, came over, and fired."
Assunta, the mother, echoes the same sentiment, having no doubts about the premeditation of the attack: "They were waiting for us. We closed the place, and they were there. It was a real ambush."
The reconstruction: from the argument to the punitive expedition
According to investigators' reconstruction, the injury was the violent culmination of a fight that had broken out a few hours earlier inside the restaurant. It appeared to have stemmed from a heated argument between three women and a restaurant employee. At that point, Gianluca Pisacane intervened as a peacemaker to calm the situation.
Although someone had already alerted the police, the three women had fled before the police arrived. However, about half an hour later, retaliation ensued: three men showed up to "avenge" the previous fight, intercepting the Pisacanes in the street.
Gianluca Pisacane's condition
Immediately rescued and transported to Pellegrini Hospital, Gianluca Pisacane underwent surgery to remove the two bullets lodged in his right leg. He remains hospitalized, but doctors confirm his condition is not worrying. Meanwhile, in the alleys of the Quartieri district, the manhunt is nearing its end.
