Naples – A 49-year-old man, resident in the province of Naples, was arrested in flagrante delicto on January 20 by the State Police as part of an operation aimed at combating online child pornography. He is charged with possession of a large quantity of child pornography.
The investigation, coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, was conducted by the Campania Cybersecurity Operations Center. Investigators acquired significant evidence through the computer analysis of several devices owned by the suspect.
Based on the evidence, the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office – 4th Section "Gender-Based Violence and Protection of Vulnerable Groups of the Population" – ordered a local and computer search. The operation uncovered a significant number of child pornography images and videos, some of which depicted child abuse.
In light of these findings, the man was arrested in flagrante delicto.
As provided by the legal system, the suspect is to be considered innocent until a final conviction is issued.
