A 24-year-old man stabbed in the leg after cell phone robbery
Ambushed in the night: the young man was confronted by two men. He was rescued at Pellegrini Hospital and will be out for 12 days. The Carabinieri are investigating.
NAPLES – Blood was spilled overnight on the streets of Naples, where a 24-year-old man was the victim of a violent robbery. The man, of Moroccan origin, presented himself to the emergency room of the Vecchio Pellegrini Hospital with a deep stab wound to his leg.
According to an initial reconstruction of events, still being examined by investigators, the 24-year-old was approached by two individuals while walking down the street. The criminals threatened him, demanding he hand over his smartphone.

When the young man refused, the situation quickly escalated: one of the two attackers pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the leg, before fleeing with his accomplice and disappearing without a trace.
Doctors at the Pignasecca hospital provided the necessary treatment to the young man, deeming him recoverable with a prognosis of 12 days. The Carabinieri of the Chiaia Company are now working on the case, having already begun an investigation to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and identify those responsible.
Footage from the area's video surveillance cameras could be sifted through to identify the attackers.

Reading this article made me worried about the safety of Naples' streets. It's incredible how people can be so violent just over a cell phone. Let's hope the Carabinieri find the culprits and that the boy recovers quickly.
