Naples – Fourteen children, all between the ages of one and three, were entrusted to a facility completely unknown to the tax authorities and other institutions. This was the shocking discovery made by Carabinieri officers from the Naples Provincial Command during a large-scale operation in the eastern part of the city, aimed at monitoring commercial activities and ensuring public safety.

The raid took place on Via Guidone, in the heart of the neighborhood, where officers from the Poggioreale company located a completely illegal nursery. Inside, the owner and a partner were caring for children without any administrative authorization or, even more seriously, the necessary educational qualifications.

The situation outlined by investigators is alarming: in addition to the lack of permits, serious work irregularities have emerged, with two other workers employed entirely "under the table."

Faced with the evidence, the perpetrators were charged with unlawful practice. The facility was immediately seized and closed, while the entrepreneur was fined €16.

Crackdown on gambling

The operation, coordinated according to the directives of the Prefecture of Naples, did not stop at child protection but also scrutinized the betting sector. The checks extended to the betting shops on Via delle Repubbliche Marinare, Via Nuova Poggioreale, and Viale Regina Margherita.

Here too, the toll is heavy: total fines totaling 44 euros. The irregularities found range from the presence of an undeclared worker to the absence of mandatory signage about the risks of gambling (the signs with the regulations and advice required by the Balduzzi Law). For all three businesses, official requests for license suspension have been submitted to the Customs and Monopolies Agency.

It's truly worrying that there are unlicensed daycare centers. Children are the future and deserve safety. But there are also serious problems with gambling. I hope the authorities take effective action to protect the community.
