A routine operation aimed at finding weapons turned into a particularly significant investigative find. It happened yesterday, when the State Police conducted a series of searches in the San Ferdinando neighborhood, one of the most sensitive urban areas in the capital.
Joint action of specialized forces
The operation involved officers from the Naples Flying Squad and the San Ferdinando Police Station, supported by the Campania Crime Prevention Unit and the Canine Units of the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue. This complex operational arrangement demonstrates a meticulous and methodical investigation.
The “robber’s kit” hidden in the common areas
It was in a common area of a building in the area that the officers made the most significant discovery: a veritable arsenal attributable to the preparation of criminal acts.
The material found included a revolver, numerous rounds of ammunition of various calibers, a bulletproof vest, and five counterfeit motorcycle license plates, evidence that they had prepared means of escape and identity concealment.
Camouflage and Disguise: Clues to Impending Heists
The presence of camouflage material also reinforces the picture: wigs and a silicone mask, typical tools used to evade video surveillance systems and make recognition more difficult.
A detail that, for investigators, represents a clear sign of planned and not improvised actions.
The rudimentary device and the leap in danger
Even more alarming is the discovery of a rudimentary explosive device weighing approximately 490 grams. This further increases the dangerousness of the seized material and opens up broader investigative scenarios, linked not only to robberies but also to possible demonstrations or intimidation.
