Naples – Not just firecrackers and fireworks, but actual gunshots to "celebrate" the arrival of 2026. Vandals targeted the EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno) headquarters in Porta Nolana, the heart of regional public transport.
The discovery was made this morning, when the offices reopened, when employees noticed clearly visible bullet holes in the building's windows.
According to an initial reconstruction, the shots were fired during New Year's Eve, reaching the upper floors of the building: impact marks were found on the 4th, 9th, 11th, and 12th floors.
De Gregorio's comment
EAV President Umberto De Gregorio, who released the news and denounced the seriousness of the incident, made a very harsh comment:
"Someone had fun shooting bullets at our building to celebrate the New Year. A reckless act that could have had far more serious consequences."
The State Police responded promptly to the scene to conduct ballistic tests and begin an investigation. Investigators will also attempt to identify those responsible by reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area. The company has already announced that it will file a detailed report with the relevant authorities in the coming hours.

It's inconceivable that such violent acts could occur in a city like Naples. Shooting at buildings is never a good idea. I hope the authorities can find whoever did this and punish them severely.
