Desenzano – The manhunt ended Tuesday evening, around 21:00 PM, on the shores of Lake Garda. Marin Jelenic, a 36-year-old Croatian citizen, was arrested by police in Desenzano on suspicion of killing Alessandro Ambrosio, the 34-year-old Trenitalia train conductor who was stabbed to death Monday afternoon in the Bologna train station parking lot.

At the time of his arrest, Jelenic appeared confused. "I knew I was wanted, but I didn't know exactly what for," he reportedly told the officers who intercepted him without identification. This statement clashes with the coldness of the images captured by investigators: surveillance footage shows him following the victim through the employee parking lot for a "significant period of time" before delivering the fatal blow to the abdomen and fleeing.

The mystery of the release and the escape

The reconstruction of the alleged killer's movements highlights a tragic communications short circuit. A few hours after the Bologna crime, Jelenic was removed from a regional train in Fiorenzuola (Piacenza) for being a nuisance. Despite being identified by law enforcement, the man was released: at that precise moment, the wanted homicide report had not yet been entered into the national databases.

From there, the 36-year-old – already known to the authorities for previous visits to the railway area – reached Milan, spending the night in a dormitory in Niguarda, before taking a bus to the Brescia area, where his escape was eventually stopped.

Institutions and unions: "Safety now"

The murder of Alessandro Ambrosio, discovered by a colleague of Italo in the parking lot reserved for railway workers, has sparked a wave of outrage and fear. The FS Italiane Group has expressed its deepest condolences and pledged its full cooperation to the investigators led by Prosecutor Michele Martorelli.

The political reaction was harsh. Michele de Pascale, president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Councilor Irene Priolo called the incident "extremely serious and unacceptable," calling for the immediate convening of technical meetings in every Prefecture to ensure the protection of workers and passengers. "The response must be collective," they declared.

A regional transport sector strike has been called for Wednesday, accompanied by a sit-in outside the Bologna Prefecture. This is a cry of alarm uniting unions and institutions in a single demand: to transform stations from unsafe transit hubs into safe, manned spaces.

Three months and he's back on the street killing someone else because of some mentally retarded judge, which in Italy is almost all of them.

Where the left reigns, these individuals roam undisturbed. Left-wing administrations are complicit in these atrocious, unjustified crimes!

Filippo Arena should do more! True, but he's always being scrutinized and judged by others. They stop and then suddenly publish new rules of conduct (a strategy). I'm sure that if the left were forced to do nothing, they would do much more. But we need to be cautious to change this country. And doing everything at once would have many against them.

They have the expulsion paper but they are still in Italy ….. the magistrate gives them the expulsion paper and that's it ………. he has to follow the case until he is put on a plane and left

In many cases, Domenico Antonio's expulsion order is given to the region where the crime is committed, then they go to other regions to do their own thing.

Salvatore Bufaletti, perhaps you haven't noticed that the right has been in power for three years, even though for me they're all the same.

Pasquale Grasso, you think I'm blind or stupid. But for me, governing means being able to do so. And not always being judged, and therefore needing to pause every now and then. It seems the right has won the elections, but the left continues to effectively govern. The confusion isn't just within me, but among many others!

Judges apply the laws, enough with the fairy tales about the apple...it's the politicians' fault...enough with the nonsense.

Mario Caparro sure but it's not the judges who change them, this policy is bastard, it doesn't do anything and the fault always lies with others

The news of this murder is deeply troubling and raises concerns about station security. It's unacceptable that a person could be killed in a parking lot. We hope there are more effective measures to protect everyone.

I won't even comment anymore on these shits who come from other parts of the world to rule our Italy. The main shits are the politicians, shits, the government must be burned. I understand we need to take justice into our own hands; these animals must be killed with our own hands, more than the shitty politicians who feed on immigration.
