Horror in the family: couple arrested for sexually abusing their 14-year-old granddaughter

Pordenone – After more than ten years, a disturbing legal case has come to a close. Justice has finally handed down its final verdict to a married couple, originally from Campania but recently settled in the Pordenone area, convicted of aggravated sexual abuse against their niece, who was just fourteen at the time.

The latest act took place in Sacile, where the Carabinieri tracked down and arrested a 54-year-old woman. Only twenty-four hours earlier, the State Police had handcuffed her husband, who was subject to a similar restraining order.

Plagiarism and the isolation of the victim

The investigation, originally conducted by the Carabinieri in the province of Naples, reconstructed a two-year period of violence and manipulation that occurred between 2011 and 2012. According to investigators' findings, the couple—who were staying with relatives at the time—had managed to exert actual influence over their teenage niece.

The girl had been progressively removed from her social environment, to the point of being forced to drop out of school and isolate herself from the rest of her family, leaving her completely at the mercy of her tormentors.

The threats of “evil spirits”

The picture that emerged from the investigation describes a pattern of aggravated gang violence. The man, taking advantage of moments of solitude, lavished morbid attention and physical violence on the minor. According to the ruling, his wife was not only aware of what was happening, but also actively participated in the abuse on several occasions.

To ensure impunity and secrecy, the couple exploited the victim's vulnerability and fears. The fourteen-year-old's silence was obtained through severe psychological threats: the two invoked alleged "evil spirits" that would attack the young girl and her parents if she dared to tell the truth.

The final sentence and prison

After years of legal proceedings, the Nola Prosecutor's Office issued arrest warrants following the final conviction. The man will serve a sentence of 6 years and 6 months in prison. The woman will receive a sentence of 4 years, 10 months, and 15 days.

While her husband had already been taken away by the police, the fifty-four-year-old woman was located by the Carabinieri in Sacile. After the usual formalities, she was transferred to the Trieste prison, where she will serve her sentence.
