The end of a relationship last September turned into an ordeal for a teacher from the Caserta area. Her ex-partner, a man living in Casal di Principe, never accepted the separation, quickly descending into a spiral of violence and control.

What initially seemed like psychological rejection escalated into a series of stalking and physical assaults that seriously endangered the woman's safety.

Brutal attacks in public

The violence erupted in public places, a sign of the individual's arrogance and dangerousness. Investigators documented a first brutal episode at a gas station, followed by a violent attack on January 3rd inside a bar.

On that occasion, the man struck the victim several times in the face in front of those present, confirming an escalation of aggression that could no longer be contained.

The complaint and the prison

Exhausted and terrified, the teacher found the courage to contact the Casal di Principe police station. The investigation, coordinated by the Naples North Prosecutor's Office, confirmed the woman's story point by point.

Given the urgency of protecting the victim and the real risk of the crime being repeated, the investigating judge issued a pre-trial detention order. The man was taken by officers and transferred to the prison, ending months of harassment.

This story is very sad and makes us reflect on how violence can fester in relationships that should be healthy. It's important for victims to find the courage to speak out and seek help, because no one should have to endure this kind of behavior.
